A 24-year-old Maltese swimmer suffered from laceration to the feet when she was hit by a boat propeller at around 2pm at Blue Lagoon.

She was assisted by the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps Lifeguards and taken to Mgarr Harbour with hydro ambulance, Lifesaver 1.

She was then transported to the Gozo General Hospital with an ambulance.

The ERRC also announced that in addition to the lifeguarding services provided in Comino and Ramla Bay in Gozo, as from next Saturday, the Emergency Response and Rescue Corps will be providing its services at Marsalforn Bay.

The lifeguarding service at the Blue Lagoon in Comino is possible due to financial support from the Malta Tourist Authority. Support is also being provided by the Ministry for Gozo, Mgarr Marina, Transport Malta, the Malta Police Force, Armed Forces of Malta and the Civil Protection Department.
