In the Press: Diplomacy should be given a chance in Libya - PM

PM Joseph Muscat said a diplomatic solution in Libya should be attempted again before resorting to military action. Muscat's toned down comments, which followed Tuesday's call for military intervention, came after UN Special Envoy to Libya Bernardino Leon made an appeal to the UN Security Council to allow further attempts at diplomatic resolution before deploying military force.

Darren Casha, the business partner of Ryan Schembri and the man saddled with the More Supermarket fallout, said he was abroad on business and denied that he fled Malta to escape creditors. He said he expects to return in April and in the meanwhile has representatives ensuring that court proceedings against him are not held up by his absence.

The GWU expressed concern that the Nationalist party requested a meeting with the union, after having made what it called baseless allegations about the union's work with Enemalta employees. 

The Malta Independent

The government has made a request to the EU for funds to commission a partner vessel to the Diciotti Class P-61, which is in dire need of maintenance. In the interim, the AFM will be using a vessel donated by the Irish government while the P-61 undergoes repairs.
