PM Joseph Muscat has called for the regularization of employment of migrant workers, who are often exploited by extremely low wages or no wages at all by their temporary employers.

The PN has joined the GRTU in calling for a further 30%reduction in energy tariffs after international oil prices dropped drastically from $120 to $40.

A number of people were attacked yesterday by a knife-wielding man in Paceville, with some 19 injured, one critically. It is unknown whether the man, of Libyan extraction and 20 years old, had had a disagreement or altercation with an individual person before the incident.

A number of prison warders have claimed that reports made to the police about threats made by inmates had seemingly gone unnoticed. Prison CEO Simon Buttigieg said that while disciplinary issues are handled by the prison board, reports made to the police must be dealt with by the police.
