In the Press: Sadeen Group will gift council new premises

Sadeen Group, the company behind the controversial American University of Malta, has promised to build new premises for the Masascala local council if a campus in Zonqor is permitted.

During a council meeting earlier this week, Labour Mayor Mario Calleja announced the deal, saying he had the CEO’s permission to make the agreement public.

A report carried out by economist Gordon Cordina on the subsea tunnel concludes that the nation would benefit some €618 million over a 20-year period. Maintenance costs are also cheaper when compared with the requirements of a bridge.

Malta has become a jihadist destination, the newspaper reports quoting an Italian ‘expert’ in Islam. Giovanni Giacalone’s comments were reported in Corriere della Sera. Giacalone also says that Muammar Gaddafi represented that a moderate face of the Muslim world.

Maltese motorists spend a staggering 72.48 hours a year stuck in traffic congestion, according to the EU Transport Scoreboard. Malta tops the list in this particular category by a wide margin. Greeks are second in the list, but the time spent stuck in traffic congestion is almost half – 41.30 hours.
