French fighter jets have bombed a series of Islamic State sites in Raqqa, Syria, international media claim.

The airstrikes, held on Sunday, come two days a series of terrorist bombings and shootings in Paris claimed the lives of some 129 people.

ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attacks, with French President Francois Hollande, calling them "an act of war."

ISIS claims Raqqa as the capital of its so-called caliphate and the targets in Sunday's bombings included a command centre, a recruitment centre, an ammunition storage base and a training camp for the terror group, CNN reports.

The portal added that twelve aircraft, including 10 fighter jets, were involved in the airstrikes, and that twenty bombs were dropped, with all of the targets being destroyed.

An ISIS media wing has claimed the sites had been abandoned before they were hit and said there were no casualties.
