The heat is on. Summer is here and with it come school holidays, lazy days on the beach and long evenings on the outside, eating and drinking with friends and family.

Stay safe in the sun this summer with some of Diandra Mattei’s tips on how to keep your skin happy through the summer months, and there more to it than just slapping on the sunscreen!

Nothing screams summer more than local designer, Carla Grima’s kaftans – long flowing silks that will turn heads no matter where you go. She teams up with local jewellery designer Yana Azzopardi for their first collaborative fashion show to raise money for the Maya Universe Academy, that provides education for children in Nepal.

With the World Cup drawing to a close all eyes are on Brazil as some of the most unlikely teams have made it so far while Malta’s favourites, Italy and England were both knocked out in the first round. Enjoy what’s left of football season with some fried Brazilian snacks that go best with a really cold beer, or three.

If you’re planning a holiday, check out Marc Casolani’s piece on Komodo Island, a largely forgotten land where giant lizards, commonly mistaken for dragons, roam freely.
