Government in talks over possible lay-off of 70 employees

ETC and DIER in talks with the management of the company and union representatives

The ministry for education and employmewnt said it had initiated talks with a private company following the potential laying-off of about 70 workers.

The Employment and Training Corporation and the Department Of Industrial and Employment Relations will continue to hold talks over the coming days with the management of the company and union representatives to help in any way possible.

"The government is committed to help local businesses, as well as their employees and their families, in such challenging circumstances. Should these employees be laid off, they will find the full support of the government in finding alternative employment in the shortest time possible," the ministry said.
