A man has denied charges of drug trafficking and possession after police raids recovered a considerable stash

A 20-year-old man has denied trafficking and possession of ecstasy, cocaine and cannabis after police raids in Paceville and at his residence recovered a considerable stash of the drugs.

Angus Camenzuli, who lives in St Julian’s and Attard, pleaded not guilty to possession of the drugs in a circumstances indicating they were not intended for his personal use, committing the crime in the vicinity of a place frequented by youths, relapsing and breaching a probation order that he had been under.

Inspector Frank Anthony Tabone explained that the man had been carrying around 100 ecstasy pills and 11 sachets of cocaine when he was searched by police in Paceville. Another 900 grammes of cannabis grass was recovered in a subsequent search of his garage.

Lawyer Victor Bugeja, appointed as legal aid to the accused requested bail. Presiding magistrate Donatella Frendo Dimech turned down this request.
