Beppe Fenech Adami livid at being asked by Party to turn down Xarabank invite.
PN backbencher Beppe Fenech Adami, one of the party’s strongest opponents of the introduction of divorce, has been asked not to appear on tonight’s edition of Xarabank.
Beppe, son of former PN leader and President emeritus Eddie Fenech Adami, was told by the PN’s higher echelons that the anti-divorce campaign would risk being tagged to his father’s legacy.
The party, which has taken an official stand against divorce, does not want to risk bringing out Labour’s core vote in the referendum by fielding Fenech Adami and expose the closeness between Eddie Fenech Adami and the anti-divorce camp.
Party insiders say Fenech Adami was livid at news that he was being advised not to appear on Xarabank, which today will field members from both sides of the pro- and anti-divorce camp.
Instead of Fenech Adami, who was originally lined up for Xarabank, the anti-divorce camp will field Anna Vella, the chairman of the Church’s Cana movement.
Beppe Fenech Adami has already stated that even if the referendum passes. he will vote against the introduction of the law rather than vote against his conscience.

Considering the speed with which some cases were settled, while others took decades, I wonder whether these tribunals apply the same measure to everyone, or simply look at faces, as is the custom with everything in Maltese society, especially the last twenty two years.

The deviant State /Church legislation introduced through the backdoor by FenechAdamiPN in 1993 is an other miscarriage of democracy in the annals of Maltese political history.
All this trouble, all this emotional and religious crusading and blackmail, throws back Malta 60 years; the PN thrives in this scenario.
All bona fide Maltese liberals should be aware( should have been aware) of PN leaders( past and present) bearing the' liberal' gift.
Those who are responsible for this mess should rot slowly in hell.

Us citizens want to hear as much as possible from all walks of life .To me silencing a person means a lot.

Its quite shame full how people are being manipulated in this divorce campaign. It has become one big political campaign for and against a minority of our population with their lives being treated like tennis balls. This issue is not about divorce anymore but about the wrestling of power away from Mullahs to the people of this country. This debate has been hijacked by the Mullahs of this country and want to deny the minority a right that they should have had with no quibble at all. I am sure that Jesus Christ never intended to ram down peoples' throats his own teachings and beliefs but rather through enlightenment and the force of the SPIRIT.
