Prime Minister Joseph Muscat will debate Opposition leader Adrian Delia for this first time since Delia was elected leader a year and a half ago.

The debate will take place on Saviour Balzan’s Xtra on the 2 May, three weeks ahead of the upcoming MEP elections.

Delia, a litigation lawyer by profession has challenged Muscat to a televised debate on a number of occasions since becoming PN leader, a request Muscat hasn’t accepted, until now.

The country will finally be able to decide whether Delia has what it takes to come out on top against a seemingly unbeatable Muscat. The two will again face each other in the final debate organised by the Broadcasting Authority three days before the 25 May election.

MaltaToday’s latest trust barometer found that Delia’s rating dropped from 20.4% to 15.9%, while Muscat was found to enjoy the trust of 54.7% of those polled.
