Gravity leads list of GO Stars HD August movie premieres

Alfonso Cuaron’s Academy Award winning thriller, Gravity, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney leads the list of movies premiering on GO Stars HD this August. 

The movie tells the story of a medical engineer on her first space shuttle mission and a veteran astronaut in command of his last flight before retiring. Disaster strikes when the shuttle is destroyed leaving the two characters alone and spiraling into blackness with little hope of returning home. Gravity took home seven Academy Awards, including Best Director for Cuaron, and will premiere on GO Stars HD on Saturday 30 August at 9.00pm.

The comedy, Nebraska, will feature on Friday 15 August at 9pm. The film, directed by Academy Award winner Alexander Payne, is about a father and son who embark on a journey to win a million-dollar prize and end up on the road to redemption. Nominated for six Oscars and five Golden Globes, Nebraska, is steeped in nostalgia, regret and bittersweet moments, yet also manages to capture the essence of modern-day struggles.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus and James Gandolfini, star in the movie Enough Said, a film about a bored masseuse who falls for her new friend’s ex-husband. Enough Said is considered to be one of the best getting-to-know-you encounters in movie history and premieres on Thursday 14 August at 9.00pm.

Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx, star in Miami Vice, a gritty action film, which will be shown on Tuesday 5 August at 9.00pm. The movie tells the story of two detective partners who discover all that is adult, dangerous and sexy about working deeply underground.

Also showing on GO Stars HD this August is Turbo, a film about an underdog snail who obtains the power of super speed and dreams of winning the Indy 500. Samuel L. provides the voice of Whiplash while Paul Giamatti voices Chet in this  hilarious animation which premieres on Sunday 17 August at 6.35pm.

Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, starring Will Ferrell and Christina Applegate sees the return of Rob Burgundy, a news anchorman whose mission it is to take on New York’s first ever 24-hour news station. The film premieres on Thursday 2 August at 9.00pm.

Other premiering titles on GO Stars HD this August include Crooked Arrows, Philadelphia, R.I.P.D, Premium Rush and Home Run. Also on air in August will be The Blacklist’s season finale on Sunday 31 August at 9.00pm. The American crime drama television series stars James Spader as Raymond “Red” Reddington, a former government agent and one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives.
