Tele-Monkey is a five-minute satirical short by Shadeena Films. The brainchild of Martin Bonnici, it tells the story of Joe, a monkey obsessed with finding the secret behind tele-shopping.

The short will be screened as a 'teaser treat' before films at Empire Cinemas, and will begin screening some time next month.

"The film was designed as a creative and technical challenge, and the script was kept short because I wasn't sure if we could pull it off or not. As a narrative driven short film, the options for exposure are limited, with most short films never making it out of the festival circuit, for example I have seen some amazing, award winning short films from all over the world, that even people interested in cinema have never heard of," Bonnici - who is script writer, producer and director on the project, said.

"One of the reasons we asked Empire Cinemas if they'd be willing to show the short film as a 'teaser treat' prior to feature films. Secondly, the film is in 3D and screenings at cinemas is really the only way to allow people to see it in 3D," Bonnici added.
