Air Malta voted amongst top airlines at World Airline Awards

Air Malta in sixth place for best regional airline in Europe

Air Malta has achieved 6th place in the ‘Best Regional Airlines in Europe’ category at the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2015.

For the fifth consecutive year Air Malta has been rated as one of the top airlines in the regional airlines category of carriers that operate predominately short haul or regional international flights.

The awards are the global benchmark of airline excellence and the primary benchmarking tool for passenger satisfaction levels of airlines throughout the world.

The survey was conducted online between September 2014 and May 2015 with 18.9 million customer surveys completed, across a range of survey topics. The survey covered full-service and low-cost airlines and measured standards across 41 key performance indicators of airline front-line product and service. More than 105 different nationalities participated covering over 245 airlines from largest international airlines to smaller domestic carriers.

It was based on measuring customer satisfaction for the passenger experience across both airport and on-board environments – including check-in to boarding, on-board seat comfort, cabin cleanliness, food, beverages, in-flight entertainment, staff service and associated travel items. Data weighting is applied to provide nomination equity when evaluating airlines of different size.

“Air Malta is rolling out a number of initiatives aimed at putting customer at the heart of the organisation. The airline will be focusing more on enhancing customer experience and showing that the airline cares more,” the airline said.
