A Serbian man is in critical condition after having fallen the height of four storeys in Triq Tumas Galea, Birkikara.
The foreigners were workers painting a building. Police said that the plank they were working on came unhinged. One of the workers, a Serb of as-yet unverified age, fell to the ground and was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital where he was later certified as being in danger of losing his life.
However, his partner, a 31-year-old Serbian, managed to slide down by hanging to the steel wire and was unhurt. The police said that he refused medical assistance.
Police investigations are ongoing.
