Elderly man grievously injured in Attard traffic accident

A 69 year old man residing in Santa Venera suffered grievous injuries after being involved in a traffic accident in Imdina Road, Attard last night at about 10:50pm.

In a statement, the police said that the accident involved the injured man's car, a Daewoo Matiz and a Ford Mondeo driven by a 22 year old man residing in Zebbug.

The 69-year-old was driving towards Attard, whilst the 22-year-old was exiting from Ta' Qali when the collission occurred.

An ambulance was summoned on site, and took the 69-year man and his passenger, a 69 year old woman, also residing in St Venera, to Mater Dei Hospital. The man was later certified as suffering from injuries of a grievous nature whilst the woman suffered slight injuries.

The 22 year old and his passenger, a 17-year-old female residing in Zebbug were not injured.

Police investigations are ongoing.
