A secret vote will be held tomorrow among the 60 members of the Nationalist Party executive, that will decide which seats will be put up for grabs through casual elections, according to MP David Agius.

In a video message on Facebook, Agius said that party rules clearly state candidates could not decide which seats to cede for themselves since it is the party’s executive that must decide, through a secret vote.

“The decision on whether I give up my seat on the 11th district or the 8th district is a decision for the party’s executive,” said Agius.

Six PN candidates were elected on two districts in last week’s general election and will now need to choose which seat to relinquish. This will in turn determine which of the PN’s candidates that missed out on a seat could still make it to parliament.
