Former Labour deputy leader for parliamentary affairs Anglu Farrugia has warned he would "reveal all facts from A to Z at the opportune time" if he comes to know that there was more than he knew to his resignation.

Speaking on TVAM, Farrugia was reacting to comments made by economist and former PL candidate Alfred Mifsud who likened Labour leader Joseph Muscat to a football coach positioning his players during Farrugia's resignation.

"If Mifsud felt the need to speak about my resignation on Labour's media and likened Joseph Muscat to a coach making substitutions, then Mifsud should speak up if there are any facts I don't know about," an upset Farrugia said today.

Farrugia reiterated that, as far as he knew, his resignation was related to the comments on the judiciary made during a political rally in December.

Farrugia was asked to hand in his written resignation by Muscat, after the party leader took issue with comments he deemed "unacceptable" on a magistrate's decision on corrupt practices during the 2008 election which Farrugia insinuated was politically biased because the magistrate's father was a PN activist.

Farrugia this morning insisted that Mifsud should clarify whether he knew something which Farrugia didn't: "Did he consult with Muscat on what to say before he appeared on One TV? Does he know something I don't? Because if that's the case then this would change the whole picture."

Farrugia went on to ask whether Mifsud was implicating that his resignation was "part" of some other plan. He went on to add that, if there would be any consequences to Mifsud's statements, than he would "reveal all facts from A to Z at the opportune time".

However, Labour leader Joseph Muscat has insisted that Alfred Mifsud's comments on One TV had nothing to do with the PL's stand. "Those were Mifsud's comments as he analysed the situation and do not reflect our position," he said.

Muscat added "there are contacts" with Farrugia when asked to say whether the two have communicated over the past days.

Alfred Mifsud is one of those who had it in for Dr Alfred Sant and said a lot of things while dr Sant was leader. In Alfred's eyes Dr Farrugia is a remnant of the Sant administration and it would not be surprising that he also had something to say to discredit him. But his mistake is that he is not part of the PL group and his thoughts are his own. Dr Farrugia should have seen this and I believe he did otherwise I believe he would have acted more rashly. Well Dr Farrugia for keeping your withs about you in the face of taunting by those who should know better.

The truth is that Joseph Muscat, if elected Prime Minister, cannot afford having Anglu Farrugia as Deputy Prime Minister!

Dear Anglu, do not allow the PN to use, abuse and throw you out like a spent lemon. You are intelligent enough to have grasped what Alfred meant. Anyone with enough grey matter did. There was no disrespect towards you, per se. So calm down, reflect and relax.
