Works on Marsaxlokk breakwater reach €2 million

Works on the wave wall of the Marsaxlokk breakwater surpass €2 million, excluding VAT.

According to Infrastructure Minister Austin Gatt, the works carried out on the Marsaxlokk breakwater have so far amounted to over €2 millionh, excluding VAT.

Replying to a parliamentary question raised by Labour MP Gino Cauchi, Gatt said that the works carried out this year primarily focused on the wave wall of the breakwater.

"The payments for the project made this year so far amount to €2,092,904.74," Gatt said.

He added that the works on the deep water quay mainly involved the designing of the project, the tendering process and a cost benefit analysis. Until today, at total of €29,965 were paid, VAT excluded.
