Dispute between GWU and De La Rue continues
GWU accuses company’s management of making false allegations, one week after it registered an industrial dispute.
The General Workers Union (GWU) accused the management of the De La Rue Company of making false allegations; a week after the union registered an industrial dispute with the company.
The De La Rue management allegedly issued two memos stating that some of its workers breached the code of ethics in acts of bullying over their colleagues.
The management also showed its disappointment over the industrial dispute, stating it was close to reaching an agreement.
The GWU rebuffed these allegations, saying that when presented with the final proposals it was the company that left the negotiation talks.
The union also encouraged the management to take the necessary action if it resulted to be in possession of concrete evidence of bullying practices, instead of resorting to unfounded allegations.
In a statement sent to the media, the union did not exclude further action if the De La Rue management failed to substantiate the allegations made.
