AD supports OSCE Libya membership

Alternattiva Demokratika expressed its support to government's proposal to allowLibya join the OSCE Libya, however it disapproved the foreign minister George Vella's "silence" on the violent crackdown on protestots in Ukraine.

In view of the OSCE meeting in Kiev, Alternattiva Demokratika Chairperson, Arnold Cassola, said: "Alternattiva Demokratika supports Malta's intervention in the Kiev OSCE meeting with regards to integrating Libya into the OSCE.  Libya should be admitted as a member on condition, however, that it signs the 151 Geneva Convention on protection of refugees."

"On the other hand, it is ironic that, though speaking in Kiev, Minister George Vella did not utter a word about the unwarranted violence going on in that country", Cassola said.
