Prime Minister Joseph Muscat said that Malta is prepared to do its bit to help Libya regain stability.

The PM met with President of the Libyan parliament, Ageela Salah Issa Gwaider to discuss the effects of the Libyan situation on security in the region.

Muscat reiterated that immediate disarmament would ensure that violence on civilians is reduced.

Ageela Gwaider said that the Libayn parliament needed to find a resolution to the conflict that would make Libya a home to all Libyans. This is why, he said, Libya was welcoming the UN Special Mission, under the leadership of Secretary General Bernardino Leon, to Libya and its efforts to bring the different factions to the negotiating table.
