Women robbed of €50,000 while she was at mass

Valletta man accused of stealing money from woman while she was in Church

Bjorn Grima, 25 from Valletta, is accused of stealing €50,000 in cash and jewellery from Maria Lourdes Muscat, on 17 October.

Police said he rented a van a day before the burglary, and was then caught on CCTV loitering outside Muscat’s house. The woman had left her home to hear mass at 6:30pm.

Grima’s defence, led by lawyers Joseph Giglio and Gianella Caruana Curran, said his identity could not be ascertained from the CCTV footage.

Grima is accused of also being a relapser.
