‘Meals on wheels’ waiting list at 182

182 applicants are currently on the waiting list awaiting the ‘meals on wheels’ service, Family Minister Michael Farrugia confirmed.

In reply to a parliamentary questions raised by PN MP Robert Cutajar, Farrugia also said that 36 individuals awaited the home help service.

The figures provided were as at June 6.

The meals on wheels service, Farrugia added, will be “updated” to reflect practices and regulations as recommended by health inspectors. This, he said, will not affect prices.

By May, 355 individuals made use of the meals on wheels service and more than 6,400 make use of the home help service.
