Civil Protection Department controls Mosta garage fire

A garage in Mosta caught fire this morning when the main's electricity panel shorted, but no one was injured

The Civil Protection Department found that the cause of the flames was a main switch that had been overloaded

The Civil Protection Department dispatched to Mosta this morning, after the owner of the garage noticed smoke coming out of it.

After being informed of the fire at 9:00am, the Civil Protection Department was dispatched from Xemxija to the scene on Triq il-Kbira, catching the fire early and putting it out using CO2.

Officers identified the most likely cause of the flames as a short in a metre switch.

No one was injured as a result of the fire, and the myriad dinghy boats located in the garage sustained no damage due to the Civil Protection Department’s quick intervention.
