Malta-flagged tanker seized by pirates - reports
The Associated Press is reporting that pirates have seized an oil tanker off the coast of Nigeria's southern delta, kidnapping its foreign crew.
The agency quoted unidentified private security forces saying that the attack happened off the coast of Port Harcourt. The ship ‘MT Halifax’ was laden with crude oil.
According to the report, an unknown number of foreign crew members were held hostage as the pirates offloaded the tanker's oil cargo.
Transport Malta has so far not confirmed the report.
