2015 begins around the world

While Malta still has a few hours of 2014 left to go, some parts of the world have already welcomed 2015.

Fireworks have lit up the night sky around Sydney Harbour Bridge as part of its annual new year celebrations and in Europe, residents of the easternmost tip of Russia are also three hours in to 2015.
