“I stand before the United Nations General Assembly to share the extraordinary progress we’ve made. In less than two years, my administration has accomplished more than almost any administration in the history of our country,” Trump said.

Trump also took the opportunity within his address to tout the many domestic achievements he felt his administration had made, including tax cuts, which his administration had pushed for with the rationale that it would create a “booming economy.” He also said he has received historical levels of defence funding, along with emphasising that US unemployment was low.

The president also mentioned within his address the U.S’s foreign priorities, saying that he had met with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and that progress had slowed in regards to North Korean nuclear weapon development.

Mr Trump ended his address with threating military action in the Middle East, specifically hitting out at Syria in regards to the use of chemical weapons during the conflict.
