South Korea register first win

South Korea broke no particular sweat when they beat Greece by two clear goals, one in each half to start out with an important first win in Group B

Jung Sung Lee opened the score after just 7 minutes when he slammed home a shot from close range after a corner. The second goal came after 52 minutes when Park Ji Sung profited from a defensive slip up and with remarkable aplomb, slotted the ball home.

Greece rarely threatened throughout the encounter in the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth and have their work cut out to qualify. The other two teams in the group, Nigeria and Argentina cross swords at 4pm.
