Worker dies after structure collapses in Zejtun farm

A 48-year-old worker of Zejtun lost his life while carrying out construction works on a farm in Hal Tarxien Road, Zejtun.

Preliminary investigation suggest that while the man was on site together with other five workers, a wall or a structure holding the part under construction gave way, trapping the man underneath.

Members of the Civil Protection Department were called on site but the man was certified dead on site.

A second man, 41 of Zejtun, was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for injuries suffered.

A magisterial inquiry is underway.
