Two motorists hospitalised in two separate accidents

Motorcyclist, man hospitalised after being injured in two separate accidents in Qormi and Zebbug

Two men were this afternoon hospitalised after being injured in two separate traffic accidents in Qormi and Zebbug.

In the first accident, a 37-year-old motorcyclist from Valletta was injured after crashing into an oncoming Mitsubishi Lancer driven by a 27-year-old man from Qormi. Police said the incident occurred at around 12:30pm when a Honda motorcycle crashed into the vehicle, and upon impact, the motorcyclist crashed into the vehicle’s windscreen.

The man was conveyed to Mater Dei Hospital. His condition is not yet known, but sources said that the injuries are not life threatening. The 27-year-old man escaped unharmed.

Meanwhile, in another incident, a 73-year-old man was also hospitalised after his car overturned in Mdina Road, Zebbug.

The incident occurred at around 1:45pm near the Ta’ Cortis Roundabout, when the victim's Kia Pride crashed into a Ford Cortina being driven by a 27-year-old man. The Kia Pride overturned on its side upon impact. The man was hospitalised after suffering slight injuries while the youth escaped unharmed.

Police investigations are ongoing.
