A sailor found dead on a merchant ship yesterday is believed to have died after sustaining knife wounds.
The seaman, of Filipino nationality, was found in a pool of blood on the MV Elbella at the Malta Freeport last night. The ship, registered in Malta, had arrived earlier that day.
A police investigation has been launched.
