Dutchman critically injured, five grievously hurt by knife-wielding Libyan

18-year-old Dutch national critically injured after being stabbed in abdomen by knife-wielding Libyan man during argument in Paceville

An 18-year-old Dutchman was critically injured and another five men were also hospitalised after an attack by a knife-wielding man, the police said this morning.

The incident occurred during an argument at 4am in St George’s Street, Paceville.

The injured are two Dutch men aged 19 and 18; two L ibyans aged 31 and 38; and a 29-year-old Maltese from Kirkop.

All men were conveyed by ambulance to Mater Dei Hospital. The 18-year-old man was certified to be suffering from critical injuries while the other five men suffered grievous injuries.

The police said the aggressor, a 20-year-old Libyan, was arrested after a search.

Duty Magistrate Aaron Bugeja launched an inquiry while police investigations are ongoing.
