Man arraigned after warning police he would kill ‘pimp’

Man claimed his under-age daughter had been seduced by pimp and was about to kill him

A man was arraigned in court with having breached provisional liberty conditions when he called the police to warn them that he was about to kill his daughter’s boyfriend, who is aged 30.

Jesmond Azzopardi had already been arraigned in court accused of having threatened his under-age daughter with a knife, allegedly for succumbing to her seducer, a pimp who was prostituting the girl.

In court, defence lawyer Toni Abela said the case was a complex one, because the alleged boyfriend had also called the girl’s mother to threaten her.

Azzopardi pleaded not guilty, and he was granted bail.
