A 51-year-old woman was hospitalised this morning after she was allegedly stabbed by a 16-year-old boy in a private residence in St Paul's Bay.

The alleged attacker, reportedly her son, fled the scene using his father's car but was later found and held by the police.

The police's communications office said it was not in a position to provide details on whether the victim and the assailant were related, but confirmed they were both Maltese nationals.
