Drug squad arrests suspected cocaine trafficker

A man who had been under investigation by the Drugs Squad was arrested on Saturday morning after he was found to be in possession of drugs, ready to be trafficked

The Police have arrested a 35-year-old man from Birzebbugia after he was found to be in possession of 25 capsules and four packets of substance, suspected to be cocaine. In all, the man was found to be holding around 500gr of drugs.

A bag sealer was also found in his possession, which would normally be used to seal drugs ready for trafficking.

The arrest came following weeks of investigation by the Drug Sqaud.

A magisterial inquiry was launched. The suspect is set to be arraigned in court on Sunday morning.
