Man en route to Malta carrying 15kg of cannabis arrested in Pozzallo

A 47-year-old Italian man was arrested in Pozzallo as he was embarking a catamaran to Malta, after he was found to be carrying 15kg of cannabis resin.

Policemen searched the man after he acted nervously and was confused when questioned. 

The drug was found in blocks sealed in plastic, hidden in a compartment in his luggage.

It is estimated to have been worth €150,000.

The man was taken to Ragusa for further questioning.
