[WATCH] Bouncers to be arraigned after footage of attack on Paceville patrons emerges

Six bouncers  are expected to be arraigned in court after a video emerged of them carrying out an attack on two men

Six Maltese bouncers from a Paceville establishment, aged between 24 and 51, are expected to be arraigned in court after a video emerged of them carrying out an attack on two men.

CCTV footage of the attack dating back to Sunday 21 May, which was first published by state media then shared on social media, shows a man talking with bouncers, before one of them strikes him on the back of the head. Immediately, a second bouncer begins throwing punches at the man who collapses on the other side of the road. As the man lay on the floor, apparently unconscious and bleeding from his temple, a bouncer can be seen stepping on his back.

A second man, believed to be a friend of the man, then emerges, taking off his jacket and shirt, and making provocative gestures towards the bouncers.

As the group turn to confront him, one of them is seen picking up a glass bottle and allegedly throwing it at the man, off-camera.

The incident unfolded at about 6.00am, with the police being informed about an hour later. Upon arriving to the scene, a 29-year-old Syrian man and 33-year-old Jordanian man were found to be suffering from grievous injuries, and were conveyed to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment.

It is understood that one of the men may possibly be left blind as a result of the assault.
