Ghajnsielem apartment search yields drugs

Two men, aged 55 and 57, were arrested by the police in a drug search that yielded five cannabis plants and sachets suspected to contain marijuana leaves.

The search took place in an apartment in Ghajnsielem, Gozo, in an investigation by the drug squad.

The police said that it elevated five plants, suspected to be cannabis, and several bags containing marijuana leaves.

Both men, UK nationals, are being held to assist the police in its investigation. A magisterial inquiry is underway.
