Two workers fall height of 9 metres into shaft

Two workers were injured in a fall of around 9 metres, the police’s communications office said.

The incident happened at around 10.30am in Notabile Road, Mriehel.

The two men, of Syrian nationality, were working at a construction site. The two fell, landing inside a shaft.

Members of the civil protection department were called to insist the workers.

The 23-year-old worker was found to be suffering from grievous injuries, whilst the other worker did not suffer serious injuries.

An investigation by the police is underway.
