Updated | Woman found dead at sea identified

The body which was found in the sea close to Munxar in Marsalforn, Gozo at around 8.50am this morning has been identified as that of 60-year-old Daniela Motta, an Italian, news reports have said.

The body of the woman was brought up to Haywharf, Floriana,, by members of Armed Forces.

Motta has been reported missing on Sunday night by her son, the reports said, having been last seen in the Marsalforn area. Her son later identified her body.

A police investigation is ongoing.
