AFM rescues diver

The Armed Forces of Malta rescue a diver who was earlier reported missing.

4 August 2012, 12:00am
The Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) said a diver who was reported missing close to the Polynesia wreck, 1.5 nautical miles off Marsascala, has been found alive and conscious but suffering from decompression sickness.

The AFM explained that it was informed of the case at 12:10pm and a helicopter and a search and rescue vessel were sent to the area.

The diver was then transferred to the vessel and transferred to Mater Dei hospital on the army's helicopter.
