Alfred Sant interviewed in ‘Illum’

No particular regrets for Alfred Sant when he looks back at his political career.

Former Prime Minister Alfred Sant will be interviewed in tomorrow’s issue of ‘Illum’.

The interview features several aspects from his political career as Labour Party leader and his vision should he get elected MEP next year.

He speaks about the 2008 general election which he lost by the slimmest of majorities; whether he would have resigned from Prime Minister due to health reasons and his views on Europe, ten years after the EU referendum.

Sant says he has “no regrets” over decisions he took during his political career, even though he admits some strategies and tactics could have been better.

The Maltese made a big mistake in 1998 for not electing Dr Sant for another term. Malta has lost a lot. Sant was not a yapper but a doer.

@fwarjahraq You just took the words out of my mouth, agree 100% with you! We need Dr.Sant as an MEP, since he's a man of principle and not a puppet like certain MEPs. He will fight for our best interests, since he already has got alot of experience on how the EU runs! Good luck Dr.Sant, and I'm sure that many of those who doubted your credibility will vote for you too, since now that they know that you've always said the truth about the EU. Good luck!

Dr Sant, you have been right all along re our EU membership problems. But the people because in their majority do not look further than our shore (like most island populations)decided to take the word of the biggest hypocrite in our political history...but this was the will of the people and so it was done. meanwhile I wish you all the best for your political future
