Signage and road markings were put illegally in Triq il-Madliena, limits of Għargħur and Swieqi, after presumably a resident – or more – felt irritated by the blasting of vehicle horns.

Deciding that they don’t want to be disturbed at all times, the fastest way the resident thought of was to put up signs and paint road markings warning drivers not to make use of their horn.

Contacted by MaltaToday, Transport Malta confirmed the signage and markings were illegal and no permission had been sought.

According to a spokesperson for Transport Malta, Swieqi local council has been informed of this illegality.
