This newspaper analyzes the run-up to the results of the MEP elections, which took three days and the full 28 counts to be finalized. Therese Comodini Cachia was the final candidate elected and the third from the PN camp, splitting the Maltese MEP cohort evenly between PN and PL.
L-Orizzont
This newspaper also analyzes the MEP election results, saying that the 33,000-vote majority the PL had over the PN was not enough for the Labour party to secure a fourth seat. Because only one candidate - Alfred Sant - surpassed the 36,00-vote quota, votes had to be redistributed over a number of counts, the reason the process took so long.
