Th power plant, due to be finished in nine months' time, is on schedule according to Gasol, the leading company in the consortium responsible for building it. Site inspections are due to start next week amid concerns that the March 2015 deadline would not be met as no visible works appear to be happening.

Minister for Eduation Evarist Bartolo has ordered transfers for the principals of a number of primary schools, despite petitions from teachers and parents against the moves. This newspaper reports that some heads of school are only a few years into their career, with this reshuffle putting on hold any projects they have planned for their schools.

Over the past 18 months, representatives of several companies have been sent to analyse data related to previous oil exploration attempts, according to L-Orizzont.  It reports that despite the interest, the government is being prudent with allowing access to sensitive information.

The Malta Independent

Local councillors have been issues a warning from the Board of Governance, cautioning them against using 'disrespectful' language in their correspondence. The warning comes after Lija councilloer Marc Sant used such language when, in a report, he alleged that there were irregularities within the council.
