A recent spate of diving deaths has prompted specialist Stephen Muscat to call for medical exams to be made mandatory again. Until 2003, a doctor's certificate was needed in order to rent equipment from dive shops. This procedure has been repalced by a self-declaration questionnaire, leaving it up to divers to declare any health issues.

PN deputy leader Mario de Marco said that since the last election in March 2013, the Opposition has put forward 16 private member's bills. These included constitutional amendments to protect against discrimination based on sexual orientation and on disability. He also said that the Opposition approved of 85% of motions in parliament, opposing only two.

Mepa will be sending enforcement officers to investigate unsanctioned developments in San Blas bay, Gozo. A patch of land had been cleared and cordoned off by a metal gate and rubble walls torn down to make room for what is believed to be either a camping site or an exclusive beach area for a hotel. The development was met with much consternation from beachgoers, who call San Blas one of Gozo's most untouched bays.
