Islands battered by hailstorm

Motorists have been advised to proceed cautiously as the ongoing storm dumps hail stones and rain over Malta and Gozo. Police have cautioned to avoid low-lying areas prone to flooding.

Facebook users have been quick to upload pictures of the view from their windows, some showing deep flooding while others show a landscape dusted with white.
