UHM to represent environmental health officers

The Malta Workers' Union (UMH) will represent environmental health officers (also known as health inspectors) after the majority of the professionals became members. 

The UHM said in a statement that it had worked for years to see these professionals represented adequately and that it would be working, in the coming days, on filling current vacancies in the profession. 

Furthermore, the statement reads, the UHM would be working with the health services sector to ensure that these workers are given the recognition they deserve. 

The union will be organizing a meeting with the health department in the coming days, to address these issues.
