Dementia training courses for Gozo hospital employees

Parliamentary secretariat for the elderly organising dementia courses for workers

Following the Government’s publication of the National Strategy on Dementia, the Parliamentary Secretariat for Rights of Persons with Disability and Active Ageing is going to continue organising dementia training courses for all employees employed in care-related sectors, including Gozo General Hospital. The aim of such sessions is to train more people in dementia care, especially people employed in the health and elderly sectors.
 
The mentioned sessions are being held on the 17th April 17:00- 19:30 and the 18th April 09:00-12:30 at the Gozo Secondary’s school Auditorium. Training will include sessions on what’s demensia, what services exist for persons with dementia and their caregivers, how to address behaviour difficulties and about activities which improve quality of life for persons with dementia. Training will be given by experts qualified in the sector, and a certificate of attendance will be given.
