34-year-old Daniel Borg was found dead in a Bangkok hotel. The cause of his death is suspected to be a heroin overdose after a small quantity of the drug was found in his hotel room.

A Maltese man living in Australia has been arrested in connection with a drug network in New South Wales. Emanuel Cachia was accused of supplying cannabis in large quantities as well as having steroids in his possession.

Former minister Manuel Mallia denied allegations made by the Nationalist party that he had abused his position as home affairs minister to grant his wife Codruta citizenship. Mallia issued a statement saying how his wife had qualified for citizenship through naturalization, having lived in Malta for over 10 years.
